Editor Standard: Under heading of "As To the Car Shortage" in your Issue Is-sue of July 26, you print an article purporting to originate with ono of Ogdcn's largest shipping industries, and In which the carriers arc charged with alleged excessive terminal delays, de-lays, particularly at Ogden. Under the present stress of transportation trans-portation conditions, fully known to shipper and carrier alike, there is an urgent need for co-operation between the shipper and carrier in order to dodge and to remedy just such troubles trou-bles as are complained of. Carriers will gladly welcome suggestions and aid of shippers In bringing about swifter movement and placement ofj their cars. In so far as this particular com-1 plaint may have reference to Union I Pacific system deliveries at Ogden. j suggestion Is respectfully offered that, the only reasonable and consistent ' procedure in matters of this kind is . for shippers to promptly notify proper! officials of the carriers, with specific I references to delays complained of, for necessary investigation and application appli-cation of the remedy which they seek.
