CALLED TO BE EXAMINED BY CITYJARD Work of the city and county draft examining boards today concerned chiefly tho filing of affidavits and clearing clear-ing up of details before tho newly summoned sum-moned men appear for examination. The city has issued a call for twenty registrants to appear for examination on August 17 and in the meantime will examino extras and men coming to Ogden Og-den from other Jurisdictions. According to Chairman Lowder of the county oxamining board, the 60 new men summoned recently will appear ap-pear before the board, starting tomorrow, tomor-row, and, after they havo been examined, exam-ined, tho work of determining the status stat-us of those drafted will be entered upon. up-on. 1 Tho sort of spirit which the members mem-bers of the examining board like to see, according to Chairman Richey of the city board, was shown today by John E. Lofquist of Dcnvor, who came to tho office to be examined. Lofquist n stated that ho would fllo no exemption claims whatever and was ready to go whoncvor they wanted him, in fact, he said ho was eager to got into service. Ho was assured by Mr. Richoy that efforts ef-forts would be mado to fulfill his wishes. wish-es. James Alma Cartwright, who register I ed in Ogden and was drafted in the j Ogden list, has asked the board if he : cannot transfer his examination to Salt Lake as he is a resident of that city at present and wishes to avoid the expense ex-pense of a trip to Ogden, Ho has been granted his request.
