Show Improper Tire Inflation Is Prevented by a Valve To Insure the proper Inflation of motor-car tires at all time, a North Dakota Inventor hat developed a pre sure-Indicating and controlling air valve which Is capable of being employed em-ployed In several ways. Primarily, however, the Instrument Is supposed to be attached permanently to the valve of each of the four tires of a machine and connected by means of wires to an electric annuiu'lutor Installed In-stalled on the dash. It Is 1 Inches In height, 1 Inches wide, and adjustable ad-justable so that It Is suitable for pneumatics of various sizes and ca- The Valve Is Electrically Connected With an Annunciator on th Dash Which Informs a Motorist When the Proper Amount of Air Has Been Delivered to a Tire. pacltlcs. . When a tire equipped with the valve Is being filled, it Is pumped ouly to the pressure recommended by Its manufacturer, for when this Is reached the adjusted valve automatically automati-cally closes, releasing the further How coming through the supply tube. At the same time an electric contact Is made which trips a leaf on the annunciator, an-nunciator, Indicating that a specific -tire has been adequately Inflated. When It Is not wished to equip a car with a complete set of the valves, one of them may be used as a pocket gauge. Likewise the device can be attached to the supply tube at a filling fill-ing station and similarly used. Popular Pop-ular Mechanics Monthly. |
