Show (Special to the Standard) Brigham City Oct. 21.-Among the important social events of the past week was the reception tendered Miss Juanita Dunbar of Ogden by Miss Mattio West Miss Dunbar was til guest of Miss West nil week. The reception wn5 given at the home of Mr and MrB. Joseph A. West Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. Miss Dunbar is to bo married later in the month to Sidney Sid-ney M Watson of Ogden. The guests wore Miss Juanita Dunbar, Miss Opal Knudson, Mrs. Chauncey w West Miss Connie Jensen, Miss Lydia Holmgren, Miss Louise Berg Mr Juan Dunbar and Mr. Sidney M Watl son of Ogden, Mr. P. R. WlBh't Mr H. H. Hammond, Mr. A. H. Woodruff, Mr. Gifford Watland, Mr. Clark Wheatley and .Mr. John West, Miss Ramona Jensen and Miss Florence Kelley assisted in the dining room. The first social of the season by the Boxelder high school was the get-acquainted get-acquainted dance at the gymnasium Friday evening. The function was a success, dancing forming the principal princi-pal function. Mrs W. H. Glover entertained Sunday Sun-day afternoon at dinner In compliment compli-ment to her daughter Miss Maude Glover. After dinner the guests enjoyed en-joyed an auto ride. The guests included in-cluded Misses Alta Larsen, Bertha Vance, Elva Knudson, Fontella Godfrey, God-frey, Grace Cheal, Rhoda Lee, Vln-nie Vln-nie Olsen, Emma Anderson, Beth Anderson. An-derson. Mrs. J. E. Ryan was hostess at a Kensington Saturday afternoon. She has as her guests Mesdames P. J. Ko-ford, Ko-ford, Orson Hudson, W. J. Lowe, A. G. Frank, H. E. Webb, Stewart Horsley, W. L. Hoist and W. I. Hargis. The First ward mutual associations enjoyed a reception in the ward amusement hall at which dancing formed the principal amusement. Miss Violet Madsen entertained the Daughters of the Pioneers at her home Monday evening. Among the guests were Mrs. Joseph A. West, Mrs. Amanda Campbell, Mrs. S. Norman Nor-man Lee, .Mrs. Elizabeth Jensen, Mrs. Ellas Jensen, Mrs. Arthur Stayner, Mrs. Nephena Frodsham, Mrs, Joseph Watkins and Mrs. Mary Wallace. Announcement was made Sunday of the engagement of Miss Emma Goiring of Salt Lake to George An-gorbauer An-gorbauer of this city, the marriage to take place on the 25th InsL Mrs. Orson entertained Wednesday afternoon at a kensington. Among the guests were Mesdames Ben Watkins, Rose Neeley, Joseph Valentine, N. L. Hansen, J. H. Burt, W. H. Gleavo. Carrie Olsen of EphralmA. W. Valentine, Val-entine, J. A. Stewart and Theodore Poulos. Mrs. P. J. Koford entertained at a children's party Saturday afternoon in honor of tho birthday of her little lit-tle daughter Alice. Among the guests were Masters Victor Hoopes, Lloyd Stohl, Lorenzo Vance, Mat Richards, Maurice Glover; Ruth Stohl, Mary Lee, Mildred Neeley, Alice Koford, Edith Stohl, Maurice Anderson, Ruth Stohl, Alice Anderson, Pearl West, Uarda Packer, Florence Nichols. Miss Marie Peck Folland of Malad was the pruest of Miss Mattie West of this city several days during the Miss Eliza Hanson was hostess at a reception Saturday evening in honor hon-or of Miss Lillian Flygaro of Ogden and Mr. J. The rooms were daintily decorated with autumn flowers and refreshments were serv ed The guests were Misses Ada Johnson, Mary Hoist, Ruth Petersen, Wanda Mathias, Alda Jeppson, Ruth Horsley, Amelia Rasmussen, Martina Howell, and Mrs, Myrom Richards of Downey, Ida. George Halverson of Ogden spent a day or two in this city on professional profession-al matters and visiting his brother James E. Halverson. Stephen L. Richards of Salt Lake was a Brigham visitor during the early part of the week. |
