Show ORATORS WIN IN IRK CONTEST Orators, representing the Weber academy senior class, won. tho second extemporaneous speaking contest of interclass series now running at the school this morning. The contest was staged as the principal feature of the weekly student body assembly, under the direction of Prof. T. Earl Par.doe. The general subject under discussion was "The Labor Quostion," with the wage phase as the principal theme. I Two speakors from each class par-J tlclpated in the event, the seniors defeating the sophomores and the juniors, ju-niors, the freshmen. The seniors then defeated the Juniors In the final, by the score of 6 points to 5. The judges were Prof. H. A. Dixon, Ida Shurtliff and Kathryn McKay. All of the speakers were complimented for the excellence of their addresses. nn |
