It Is surprising how little the average American knows about his native land. "The trip is not only a pleasurable Dne but a highly educational venture, too. An interesting part of the time is spent in Isiting factories, mines, mills and other industrial plants where a short talk is given to the workers, telling them about the trip and the experience connected with it. The journey has taken nie over thirteen thir-teen months. I have interviewed seven sev-en governors and many federal officers from whom I have received credentials. creden-tials. "After I have seen 'home America.' 1 will extend my travels to foreign America, going to Alaska, the Hawaiian Ha-waiian and the Philippine islands and make a short stay in Japan." I |
