Show DM HOLDUPS OCCUR WHILE PARADE IS , im PROGRESS Two holdups occurred in the city last night, according to reports received re-ceived by tho police. The victims of the robbers were John Van Zweeden, an employe of the city street department, depart-ment, and Cornelius Osborn. who resides re-sides at Twenty-second street and Grant avenue. Van Zweeden was knocked down by two men, who jumped upon him from behind trees as be approached Twenty-ninth street on Lincojn avenue. They took $2 from him and made their escape before ho could recover sufficiently suffi-ciently to get a good look at them. Two men also figured in tho holding up of Osborn, which occurred a short distance north of the postoffice, on Grant avenue, shortly after 8 o'clock. They secured his purse and several dollars in cash. Two suspects in this case were arrested by Patrolman W. E. Moore later in the evening and are being held for investigation at the police po-lice station. |
