Show INDUSTRIAL SCHOOL A EIRE TRAP Al . UNSANITARY James H. Wallis, the judge of the clean town" contest being conducted by the state board of health, has been inspecting Ogden this week, making a very critical examination of health conditions, and going into every feature fea-ture covered by this "clean town" campaign. cam-paign. Yesterday he inspected the reservoirs res-ervoirs and the artesian wells, and unhesitatingly un-hesitatingly pronounced them above all criticism, and said Ogden possessed pos-sessed a water supply which was unexcelled un-excelled in the state. In making an Investigation of the milk supply of the city, Mr. Wallls did not hesitate to condemn some of the unsanitary features connected with two or three of the dairies he inspected. inspect-ed. It is understood that these objectionable objec-tionable features were at once remedies. rem-edies. After going over the building at the Industrial School, he said it would be almost criminal if the coming legislature legis-lature failed to provide for the improving im-proving of the main building, so as to make it fireproof. In its present condition, con-dition, it is certainly dangerous, and also unsanitary, made more so by the very defective plumbing throughout this building. Mr. Wallis expects to complete his work of inspection in Ogden the early part of the coming week. He has yet to score Salt Lake City, when his work of judging the cities of Utah will be completed, and then the results will be announced. It will be interesting to know how Ogden will stand this year. ' Salt Lake won the prize last year, Ogden winning win-ning the prize the year previous. It Is to be hoped, when the results are made public, that It will be found Ogden Og-den has carried away the honors. |
