On another occasion a call came to tho office at 3 o'clock in the morning, a woman stating that her son had gone to a party at RIverdale and had not leturned. She wanted the sheriff to find her son, if possible. She could not understand why the sheriff would peimlt dances to be kept up so late. She gave a description of her boy, giving his age as 19 years. The sheriff was called to the phone by Mr. Ross and he explained to the mother that ho would send his deputies depu-ties out to look after tho boy, but that If he should arrive at home at any time before daylight he would expect ex-pect her to communicate with the office. of-fice. Tho sheriff retired and Mr Ross had hardly started to snore when the telephone rang. He took down the receiver and the mother quickly advised him to call tho deputies dep-uties In, as her son had returned home. She said that tho boy was not at tho RIverdale dance, but had been to Brlgham city with one of his friends.
