Show Hill FOR THE MILITARY CiP ran Dr. Rolnhold Kanzler, secretary of tho Business Men's Training Camp, makes the following announcement: Wednosday.'nlght, April 19, Llou-enant Llou-enant Bell, U. S. A., will deliver the fifth lecture on military science, subject, sub-ject, "The Cavalry and Horsemanship,' Horseman-ship,' at the Sub-high school at 8 o clock. Iho high school orchestra will render ren-der a special program. The committee Is 'desirous that all the men who have signed cards attend this lecture. .Bulletins from the Plattsburg C3mp have arrived. The same rules will govern at the Salt Lake camp. Qualifications to attend military training camp: Junior Division comprises . Students Stu-dents and graduates of colleges. Graduates in 1916 of colleges and universities; uni-versities; senior high school students or those who have arrived at a certain cer-tain age under 21 years. Senior division comprises. Graduates Grad-uates of colleges and universities under un-der 45; other citizens between the ages of 21 and 45 years. iuu uujccl oi uie camp ib iu ntuw equip properly qualified men to fill tho great deficiency in commissioned officers that would immediately arise in case of national emergency, by giving giv-ing them four or five weeks of Intensive Inten-sive military instruction in the field under officers and with troops of the logular army, to foster a patriotic spirit and spread among citizens of the country some knowledge of military mili-tary history, military policy, and military mili-tary needs; to instill in four or five weeks a. healthy outdoor life, the habits of obedience, discipline, command com-mand and self control that are the prerequisites of efficiency In every business or profession, and to send men back from the camps better prepared pre-pared to take care of themselves and others. The expense will be $30 for senior division, ?22.50 for junior division, exclusive ex-clusive of uniforms which costs $10, and railroad fare. The obligation Is to defend the country in case of need, which already al-ready rests on all male citizens of military age. Attendance at a military mili-tary camp neither Increases nor diminishes di-minishes this existing obligation. The local commltteo requests every businesss man in Ogden to attend this camp, and, should this not be possible possi-ble to arrange to be represented. |
