Show 1 Society ATTENDED PARTY. Max Geffln and E. B. Charplate of the Utah Copper company, Bingham Canyon, were Ogden visitors yesterday yester-day and were guests at the Bohemian club dancing party. AT BOHEMIAN DANCE. The Misses Myrtle and OIlvo Johnson John-son of Logan wero guests at the Bohemian Bo-hemian club dance in the Berthana hall last night. They returned home today. EARL WEST HERE. Earl West, manager of the Salt Lake branch of the John Scowcroft & Sons' company, was In Ogden today on business. SURPRISE PARTY. Monday evening, Mr. and Mrs. J. L, Whitaker were pleasantly surprised by several of their friends and relatives, rela-tives, tho occasion being the anniversary anniver-sary of Mrs. Whltaker's birthday. A delicious dinner was served by the hostess, after which the guoBts enjoyed "500," honors being given to Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Whitaker, Mrs. J. Greenwell and James Iverson. Those present were. Thursday afternoon April 20, 2:30 p. m., the Ladles' Aid society of the Methodist church and their friends will be entertained at Sterling hall which is the present name for the Methodist Girls' Homo, 2322 Jefferson. Jeffer-son. The hostesses wll be the Mesdames Mes-dames Eckert, Eisenberg, Lemon, Millar Mil-lar and Dundas. HOME CULTURE CLUB. The Home Culture club was entertained enter-tained Thursday afternoon, April 13, at the home of Mrs. Jay Smith of Robinson avenue. Tho house was charmingly decorated for the occasion with apple blossoms. "American Art" being the subjoct to be reviewed, Mrs. James Fetherolf opened the program with an interesting interest-ing paper on the history and use of the "Smithsonian Institute" at Washington. Wash-ington. Following this introduction, Mrs. T. W. Horn gave the early artists, tracing trac-ing their life work and Illustrating her talk by photographs, and pointing point-ing out as tho pictures were shown, tho Important points In eaoh, making an instructive and impressive lesson of her subjoct. , Mrs. W. E. Moore closed the por-gram por-gram with tho modern artists, giving as she talked .picture suggestions and going into dotall so that "Hunt," "La Farge," "Whittlor" and many others became to the listeners something more than an empty name. In closing clos-ing sho said: "While AmoricanB had no great school of art like tho old world or masters of such great name, yet her schools and artists are of no mean ability." Open discussion followed the papers, and a social time was devoted to enjoying en-joying tho works of art displayed. Mrs. Clyde Smith was tho guest of the afternoon. A very prettily arranged affair in the form of a birthday party was given giv-en by Miss Ruth Osborno at her homo on Wall avenuo Friday tho fourteenth, it being the anniversary of her fifteenth fif-teenth year. A very enjoyable surprise party was given for Miss Inez DaviB, at l)er home, last evening, the occasion being her birthday. A prettily appointed parcel shower was given by Miss Elsie Stone last Thursday evening, April 13, in honor of Miss Elean Couch. The guests were teachers In the Sunday School classes and members of the Y. L. M. I. A. of the Fourth ward, numbering about twenty-five,and they showered their former co-worker with some very lovely gifts. The hostess entertained In a most charming manner. The Berthana social hall last night, after several weeks of Idleness, was the scene of another select social event, the affair being a Bohemian club party. The party was the fourth of tho club series for 1915-1G and was attended by about 150 couples, including includ-ing guests ifrom Salt Lake City, Logan, Provo and other parts of the state. .
