Secretary Daniels Dan-iels said today that plans for the dispatch dis-patch of the tlantic fleet to San FTanclsco by way of the Panama canal in connection with the canal ceremonies were going forward, notwithstanding not-withstanding the report of Governor Goethals of Panama that he could not guarantee the passage of the battleship bat-tleship through the cana in March because of slides Secretary Garrison discussed with the president and the cabinet today the Goethals report made to him yesterday. yes-terday. Mr. Garrison said that even though battleships could not pr.ss through the cenal. the trip of the president and other officials through Panama to the San Francisco exposition expo-sition need not be Interfered with, since the party could be taken around the slides by rail. Secretary Daniels said he would confer with Admiral Fletcher tomorrow regarding details of the cruise.
