STRIKE BECOMES SERIOUS AFFAIR Wllkesbarre, Pa., Nov. 7. With thousands of men and boys Idle today, rioting and disorder by sympathizers of tho striking motormen and conductors con-ductors of the Wllkesbarre Railway company, which is attempting to operate op-erate cars with strikebreakers, assumed as-sumed serious proportions, Six riots occurred during the day and three men, a policeman, were seriously in jured ana several cars were wrecked. In the borough of Edwardsvillo, a detail of state police broke up a crowd of 600 men and bbys who had stoned a car and driven tbe crew to shelter. In the scrimmage ono trooper, it is alleged, struck a bystander over the head Inflicting a serious gash. A warrant war-rant has been issued for the officer's arrest. Indignation against the strikebreakers strikebreak-ers assumed such serious proportions that officials of tho company decided to stop the operation of cars on the half dozen lines that have been kept open since Friday. No cars have been run after nightfall.
