Show FRENCH STEAMER FIGHTING FIRE Liner Rochambeau Turns Into Halifax With Blaze in Reserve Re-serve Coal Bunker. New York, Nov. 8. The French line steamship Rochambeau has a fire In the reserve coal bunker, according to a message received at the French Hue today. The message from the captain stated sta-ted that the Rochambeau Is not In dangpr, but has turned toward Hall-fax Hall-fax and that the fire Is being fought with all facilities, Tho message received at the French line read: "Fire In reserve coal bunker amidships. amid-ships. Fighting fire and have turned toward Halifax. Hope to put It out. Am in no danger at all." Paul Fagcut, general agent of the line here, said that if It wore found necessary to take the ship into Hall-fax, Hall-fax, she should reach there late tonight to-night or tomorrow. The Rochambeau sailed from this port for Bordeaux last Saturday with 171 passengers in tho cabins and 250 in tho steerage. She carried a full cargo of general merchandise.
