Show TWELVE THOUSAND MEN GO OUT TODAY Schenectady, N T Nov. 24.--Twelve thousand workmen at the plant of the General Electric company here have been ordered to strike at 7:30 o'clock tomorrow morning. The strike is the outcome of a layoff at the local works. Frank I... Em mons of the company In a statement tonight, said the men had acted un-wlselv un-wlselv through a misunderstanding He denied the men's charges that Du-jay Du-jay lost his position through his activity ac-tivity on behalf of the union. He said the layoff was necessary because of a slackness In business. The grievance committee was in s?slon with company officials all 1 day, at the close of which it was tho opinion that a strike could not be averted Tonight the committee met with the fourteen presidents 0 unions and the final action calling the men out" was taken, the several unions having j Indorsed the walkout at a meeting last Thursday night.
