The stamps are to be usee in sealing letters and parcels durlns the holiday period serving the fur ther purpose of ornamentation. Ninety per cent of the money re. ecived from the sale of the seals goes to ihe local organization. That the Children s Aid society Is worthy, is not questioned by anv one familiar with the loving work ol the women ol Ogden who make up that organization of good Samaritans Many a helpless child has been taken by the hand and tenderly led out of misery and woe by this band of no ble women The Standard has knowledge of a dozen cases of die tress that have received attention, on In particular that of a little boy. the straightening of whose badly dc formed feet was made possible by the Children s Aid. Struggling, overburdened mothers poverty stricken, frail mothers, hap less girls, abused little boys, sick youngsters all are the object of at tentlon by this society, not only al Christmas time, but at other times when no one has a thought of the un fortunates except the members of this society or other similar women's or I gauizations. We are convinced that 90 cents out of every 100 cents spent on Red Cross seals In this city goes to alleviate sut ferlng and sorrow, and we commend the undertaking. |
