Show MINCEMEI AI THE IIIQI SCHOOL The senior class of the Ogden high school is planning a program of commencement com-mencement exercises which will surpass sur-pass any that has ever been given by a class from that school. The class has asked thaL a week be given them to fill with different events and the favor has been granted by the faculty. All credits will bo given a week "ahead and, as all the examinations examina-tions shall have been passed by that time, the final week will bo used Bolely for pleasure. Tho committees are already at work on the plans for tho different events and say that they will be carried out in an elaborate elabo-rate manner. The first ovont of commencoment week will bo the baccalaureato address, ad-dress, which is to be given by Rov. W W. Fleetwood In the First Methodist Meth-odist church. Arrangoments will he made at the church to seat two hundred more persons per-sons than were seated last year and the address will be given on the Sunday preceding tho end of tho school term. The commencement exercises, will be held at the Orpheum theatre and will be followed with a banquet. The class is also planning to give a dance at tho Hermitage during thc week. Another feature of the exercises of the week will be the planting o a class ivy on tho oast wall of the high school, which will be thc first one to be planted at the chool and will mark the establishment of an annual custom. The class is also arranging to present pre-sent a Bllv.or loving cup to tho school, to be used as a prize for class debates de-bates The cup will have tho num- orals of the class and each class that wins the inter-class debate will have Its numerals and tho date on which the debate was won, engraved on it. The class this year number 80 members. At the commencement exercises, ex-ercises, thc valedictory address will be given by Ruth JohnEon and the salutatory address by Sidney Winter. |
