Commission houses were well supplied with buy Ing orders and there was only little pressure to sell. Opening quotations which were 3-8 to 1 1-Sc above last night, were followed by a material further gain. Corn Jumped relatively more than wheat In addition to the bullish news from Mexico, there were reports ot torrential rains interfering with the harvesting and movement of the Argentine Ar-gentine crop. Prices started 3-8 to 1(51 l-8c higher and continued to ascend. Tightening of quotations affected oats with other cereals. The effect, however, on oats was comparatively mild. Although provisions at the outset folt to some extent the influence of a decline In the hog market, prices afterward swung entirely into line with tho upturn in grain. Dry weather reports from Western Kansas and Nebraska helped keep the wheat market firm throughout the session. The close was at an advance ad-vance of 1 1-2 to 1 3-4c net.
