Parry disappeared from the peni tentlary on the night of Friday, August Au-gust 1 Last Tuesday, when Parry had been found near Buena Vista and captured by a posse of deputy sher-Ifls. sher-Ifls. It was rumored yesterday that Parry Par-ry had changed his story of the manner man-ner of his escape in evidence presented pre-sented to the board of corrections The bqard went into secret session shortly after 10:30 o'clock yestordu morninp. and before golnp to lunch at the warden's home shortly before 1 o'clock, had evamined all four guards who wore suspended after the discovery discov-ery of Parry's getaway Guard Charles J. Mabbutt, who was on duty in the northeast tower nfter midnight on the night of the escape, and who was one of the four guards suspended, was the first witness before tho board yesterday yes-terday morning. He was called shortly short-ly tiiv the board convened and remained re-mained in the chamber for nearly an hour. Guards J. M Gray. Merrill and George Longson were then called in the order named Gray guarded the southwest tower from 4pm till midnight, mid-night, Friday. August 1, and Longson was his relief, while Merrill stood the first wat a on the northwest tower, tow-er, being relieved at midnight by Mabbutt. Mab-butt. The examination of these guards, with the exception of Merrill was brief .Merrill was recalled after Longson had been examined and re mained in the chamber until the board retired for lunch, and was again called after It resumed Its session about 1' o'clock. Several times yesterday morning Guard Longson wa9 taken on ;he west I wall of the prison yard, while another guard was sent along the south wnlT This performance was timed, but was not repeated by the other suspended guards. About 3:30 o'clock, after being in session for practically five hours, the governor announced that the board had concluded taking testimony, but had not reached a decision as to Its findings and that no announcement of the findings of the board would be made until the regular meeting, which will be held at the prison Tuesday morning. At this time, the governor said, the board would mike public the findings In the investigation. The governor also announced that the board would meet In secret session ses-sion at his office today, and there would consider the evidence gathered during the investigation Other than this, the governor nor any other member mem-ber of the board would make any announcement, an-nouncement, and no intimation of the findings of the board could be had.
