Show 1.1U DONISBY THE CITY SANITARY INSPECTOR In his address before the Parents' class of the Second ward yesterday morning, George Shorten, city sanitary sani-tary Inspector, gave several pointers relating to the subject of retaining health. His address, "Modern Sanl- j tatlon and the Destruction of Flies" ; had in it much that is particularly ap- I pllcable at this season of the year. After advocating a public comfort station on the City square and giving! a few preliminary remarks on sanitation, sani-tation, he gave a series of "don ts ' The inspector said- "Don't let garbage accumulate at your back door and don't dump it on I the lot and keep It there until you get enough to make a wagon load. Put garbage in cans and arrange with the scavanger to remove It every j week or oftener if necessary. "Don't stack manure in a corral! Call up the farmer. Remind him that it must be removed and that ou ! are depending upon him to do It Keep It covered. Don't pile it up 'near your neighbor's fence Learn; the lesson taught by the Master 'Do I unto others as you would have them , do unto you." "Don't buy from the butcher or grocer that exposes his products to ' dogs, flies or dust. Ogden can boast of the cleanest lot of butchers and i grocers to be found in the west I 'if you must drink get the best ; and from the places w hlch are known ! to be careful about their container. I If you take our meals down town go to a clean restaurant. There arc lots of them and If ou cant find them call up the health department. They will be located for you. "Don't allow children to eat cheap candy Get the best. There is plenty plen-ty to be found in Ogden. "Don't buy milk of tbe dairyman If he delivers it to you warm. If it is dirt or not as good as you think ll should be. tell him about It. Don't keep the milk in u warm place. Ogden Og-den has the best and cleanest and best milk In the state with few exceptions ex-ceptions See that the milk is delivered de-livered in sanitary bottles. Shorten concluded his remarKs with reference to the fly question.
