Heagren came out with the statement that In view of the at- 1 tltude of Chris Jordan and his man ager Tom Scanlan toward him as a j promoter of the return match between Jordan and Mike Yokel that he would retire from the field and act only as the manager of the Jackson Hoi" rancher. Heagren has attempted to negotiate negoti-ate with Scanlon. but has never been successful for the reason that the I veteran manager of the Greek has never "found time" to talk terms or date Scanlon has announced that lie wants a $3000 purse while Heagren as a promoter is willing to offer SL'SOO and adds that whoever st?s "th contest will have to have at least the amount last named up before he will sign articles ns Yokel's manager "I am willing to meet any reasonable reason-able Ifrm8," stnted Heagren ? st nigh' But if I am not wanted as a promoter I certainly will not stand In the way of a return match. I wart to see the men together Yokel is keen for the match and the public, right now, is wild about It. Yokel Is willing to wrestle, winner-take-all or cut the puise any way the Greek wants to All Mike wants Is a chance tn turn the Greek over on his back Jordan however, doesn't seem to he JO nxious. Or at least, his demands would Indicate such a feeling Heagren is acting for Yokel and stated last night that when the hfids were to be made he would protect his man by putting up a proposition which would Insure a purse of at least F2500 and another whereby the wrest lers would be guaranteed a certain sum and the privilege of a large percent per-cent of the gross receipts |
