Hundreds of thousands of dollars in reparation on Shipments of wool and mohair from Pacific coast and Rocky mountain points to the east, were denied to shippers today by the interstate corumrece commission. On complaint of the National Wool Growors association. National Mo-J Mo-J hair Growls' association, and the railroad commission of Oregon, the commission held, on March 21, H12, that the freight rates were unreasonable unreason-able and directed that tbe be reduced reduc-ed Later in the spring and earlv summer ol 1912 the railroads put into in-to effect the lower ratee suggested bv the commission. In its decision the commission reversed re-versed the ci.iestlon of granting reparation rep-aration tenuested lv shippers on all shipments during the period from two ! years prjor lo the riling ol tho complaint com-plaint until the date the reduced .rates became effective. The commis-! commis-! lion held today that reparation would be granted onl r0r shipments under the old iate after the date of the commission's findings. |
