Show I ASSISTANTS AT THE FOREST j OFFICE Beginning toda nineteen forest assistants as-sistants who have been employed 'luring 'lur-ing the v inter on rer onnalssancc and drafting work took up special details in the district offlco of the forest ser vice. These details will he similar to those just completed by the different forest supervisors in district No 4 During the summer the forest us sistants arc- employed largely in timber tim-ber estimatinc and administration of timber sales and technical lines of work on the different forests and the field data obtained In the summer season sea-son Is worked up during the winter months In order that these men may obtain ob-tain a thorough knowledge In all the different lines of work on the national forests, the special details to the district dis-trict office have been arranged. The men are divided into groups and ea group assigned for a week to the i fices of grazing, operation, silvlcul ture and lands. Several days during j each week are devoted to conferences with the chiefs of office, at which all I phases of the work coming under the L-i office concerned is taken up and threshed over in much detail.
