Show UTAH LIGHT TO HAVE RESERVOIR EIGHT ACRES OF ORCHARD LAND PURCHASED ON THE CANYON ROAD WHICH IS TO BE EXCAVATED FOR IMPOUNDING OF WATER WHEN ENLARCED POWER PLANT IS RUNNING AT FULL CAPACITY SMALL LAKE WILL BE FORMED. The Utah Light & Railway company has recently acquired fiile to ei$;ht acres of land immediately southwest of the power hoiiRc. which will be I lined for power purposes to protect farmers who own land below the plant at timet; when the plant Is running at full force The plant will be practically doubled dou-bled in capacity and It will be require re-quire more water than heretofore used, and unless there be a reserve reservoir between the plant and (Inform (In-form lrtnds, the latter might be flood ed. The surplus flow will be emptied into the reservoir, permittinc only the quantity of water needed on the farms m pass through the tail race The reservoir will be relieved of Its stor age supply at times when the flow of water for the power plant is at low stage It is said by the officers of the com pan; that the reservoir wll be of con slderable value to the farmers, as it will afford a supph that ran be drawn on in case of low water As soon ns frost Is out of the ground excava tion will begin, but it is not known at this time Just what the capacity of tho reservoir will be except that it will about eight acres of ground to a depth of from four to seven feet , , ., j |
