Show THE LABOR TROUBLE railroad ail road men now in conference in ogden n echo of the strike of 1894 graffr under consideration what the C P trainmen expect and will ask for the town has been full of railroad men from out of town today and they leave been holding innumerable conferences feren ces the matter which has brought them together is one that concerns the trainmen of the C P and it looks to some who are on the outside but well posted that the present move means a breaking away from the federation and from P M arthur tho committees having the matter in hand havo nothing to give out but the question at issue is apparently one of a restoration of wages in the readjustment of the trouble after the strike 0 the wages were reduced about 33 13 1 3 per cent and it is supposed a demand will be made for a restoration to of the old scale then there are some questions of seniority to be adjusted and tho question of time and running schedules the matter is one which effects the men on the entire line and cannot be adjusted la ogden the only object of holding meetings here being to get the full sense of tha men on this end and put the matter in a shape to make the strongest possible fight it is presumed there will be a hard struggle but it Is not anticipated that there will be any strike |
