Show MME NEVADA PALMER THE CHARMING ARTIST AND HER COMPANY AT THE GRAND the event of the season in a musical way was the appearance ot ame mme emira nevada palmer and her excellent company at the grand last night which was enjoyed by a fair audience of ogden people the prima donna was untitled ln titled to a better reception but what the audience lacked in numbers it made up in enthusiasm the audience was essentially a musical one and every number was applauded to the echo every appearance of a member was followed by a firmly demanded encore and the evening was the most thoroughly enjoyed of any in the history of the house ame mme nevada has justly and rightly won her laurels there como who bad heard her years and years ago and they too with the others felt that she was greater than ever before her folco is one of marcellous marvellous marv ellous sweetness albeit strong but not powerful but it fa clear as a silver bell pure and true with an exceedingly wide range and a tender sympathetic tone and the softest tones filling the house the judgment of all is that it is the most beautiful voice ever heard in ogden her first number was the bell song from lacame Lack me and the audience almost arose from its beet in enthusiastic thusia applause she responded with red roses or white displaying the tenderness of her as well aa its flexibility her second number was a group of songs all familiar pretty and even after singing tour she was called back and sang way down upon the swanee river her third and last number and the last number on the pro gramme was the shadow dance from denorah Dl norah a difficult number technically and exa with ease and perfection it demands a thorough control of the vocal muscles and a flexibility borne only of hard and thorough culture the audience remained seated after sho sang this number and kept up a forcible and prolonged applause even af aci she had bowed her acknowledge ments several times and finally she wang home secel home the hobt beautiful of all familiar songs into this she threw all the feeling of her soul and it was most touchingly tender continued applause followed but she appeared no more of her support it can be said that they are true artists mr pratt the pianist Is a concert artist and one of tho most clever accompanists ever seen here lie was heartily applauded mr blumenberg was the recipient of numerous calls for encores and both he and mr pratt shared honors with the prima donna tho company goes from ogden to reno where they have a large audience awaiting their appearance A large number of nevada people and others who ahad known ame mme nevada in years gone by called on her after the entertainment last night and this morning tho next attraction at the grand is paul and hla great company in the dawn of freedom |
