Show I Former President Shakes Hands With Braves at Blackf oot, Idaho ' Blackfoot, Ida., Sept 13. A group of Blackfoot Indians wearing their gaudleBt garments welcomed Colo- , nel Roosexelt today. The colonel j arrived in Blackfoot after an all-night all-night ride from Boise and spent two houra here. The Indians were on hand when he arrived and he shook I hands with the braves and patted the cheeks of the babies Then he made a speech to several hundred "pale fapes." Frpni Blackfoot. Colonel Roosevelt said that, although al-though he did not object to hard work, he felt he was having too much of it on his trip and would be obliged to make fewor speeches. He started out on his tour with the intention in-tention of making only one speech in a state but whenever he has entered n state he has found that plans have beon made for a number of addresses. "I should be glad," he said, "to speak In every part of every state but of course that Id a physical Impossibility. Im-possibility. I hope the people I am pbliged to refuse will understand this." |
