Election Elec-tion of officers and the disposition of the per capita tax question were the moBt Important matters before the national encampmont of the G. A. R. at today's session. From the attitude of delegates from every section of the country it appeared appear-ed that Judge Albert B. Beers of Bridgeport, Conn., would bo selected commander-ln-chlof with practlcallj no opposition. It was learned that the namo of General Daniel E. Sickles of New Rork would not he presented for the highest honors and ab General Sickles was regarded as Judge Beers' most likely opponent, his withdrawal made the Connecticut man's selection almost al-most a certainty. Aside from the comraandor-ln-chlef, those regarded as certain of oloc-tlon oloc-tlon were Captain H, Z. Osborne of Los Angclos as senior vice commander, command-er, and Dr. Warren E. Day of Pres-cott, Pres-cott, Ariz., as surgeon-in-chlef. For chaplaln-ln-chlcf four candidates were in tho field, each claiming a strong following, though the adraer-ents adraer-ents of Dr. George E.
