Show GOOD ROADS BOOSTERS IN OGDEN I After a rough trip from central Wyoming, and several hours overdue, the mombera of the Omaha and Wyoming good roads boosters were met at Morgan by a delegation of Ogden Og-den enthusiasts and escorted to this city, reaching here about midnight, Saturday. The cause of the delay was washed out roadways between Opal find Kemmcrer occasioned by the heavy rains of last week. All members mem-bers of the party were, in good health and spirits, however, and stated that they enjoyed all of It, despite the discomforts. The parly consisted of: II. E. Frederlckson, chairman Omaha Oma-ha Commercial Club County Roads committee. E. L. Emery, president Wyoming Highways association. C. P. Sorenson, Wyoming Btato gamo warden. J, A. Shoemaker, secretary Omaha Commercial Club Good Roads. Yesterdav morning the visitors were accorded an Informal reception at tho Weber club, after which they were given a ride to Hunatville and return, two automobiles making tho trip, driven by M. S. Browning and William Howell, and containing besides the guests, O. B Madson, Secretary I. L Reynolds of the Weber club, Judge J. A. Howell, Joseph Thomas, Robert Moyes, Senator George Kelly, J. L. Carlson and members of the local press. On the return from Huntsvllle, a stop was made at the Hermitage for a brief rest, after which the party re- turned to Ogden by way of the rlvor road and gathered" at the club for a luncheon, prepared under the direction direc-tion of Secretary Reynolds. The visitors were loud in their praises of Ogden canyon and the general gen-eral beauty of the city and Its surrounding sur-rounding orchard districts. The) also commented on the canyon boulevard and the highway leading to Ilunts-villo. Ilunts-villo. svatlng that It equalled the fa-isaus fa-isaus touring highways of Europe. Praises the Canyon. "The thousands of automobile tourists who contemplate the ovor-land ovor-land trip this year, and In the years to come, will make the mistako of their lives if they do not include Ogden Og-den and lis wonderful canyon in their principal stopping places," said H E. Frederlckson, on his return from the trip to HuntBville '"This gorge is equal in scenic beauty to any of the easily accessible points of Interest In America, Those towering cliffs will remain In the mind's eye of the traveler trav-eler longer than anything seen on a trip to the Pacific coast and every effort should be made to Impress the fact on the traveling public through Judicial advertising (Continued on Page Seven) GOOD ROADS BOOSTERS IN OGDEN (Continued from Pago Six.) "This Is the third and most pretentious preten-tious trip that tho Omaha Good Roads Boosters made in the last six weeks, the first being between Omaha and Sioux City, the second between Omaha Oma-ha and Kansas City, and this, the third, bolng botweon Omaha and Salt Lake City. The most strenuous effort .now being made is to so improve the roads along the Union Pacific as to positively insure tho acceptance of this route as the one best trans-coutlnontal highway. Such acceptance will primarily pri-marily attract extensive tourist travel in this direction, and will, no doubt, ultimately lead in government aid in making this an exceptionally fine highway, as there is already congressional congres-sional agitation to secure appropriations appropria-tions that will make trans-continental touring more ploasant and Iosb strenuous. stren-uous. "The work that the Omaha Commercial Commer-cial club is doing along this line, is raado possible through tho fact that Mr. H. E. Frcdcrlckson has donated tho use of his six-cylinder Chalmers, and his entire time, to tho Omaha Commercial club for Its Good Roads campaign, for a period of three months. Mr. Frederlckson contemplates contem-plates carrying boosters of this organization or-ganization and Wyoming on various trips to the different sections of Nebraska Ne-braska and Wyoming, expecting in three months to have accomplished material results for good roads In gen-eraU gen-eraU Auto Does Good Work. "The car which Mr Frederlckson drives has an Interesting history. It was built bv tho Chalmers Motor companv In 1910, and has been driven a total of 40,000 miles by their engineering engin-eering department, Including a run as the official press car for tho last GHdden tour. They have turned this car over to Mr. Frederlckson with Instructions In-structions to drive it hard, and thoroughly thor-oughly test its construction. Mr, Frederlckson hopes to average loO miles per day during tho noxt throe monthB, putting It through all sorts of roads, and giving tho car a most thorough thor-ough tost. 'The present work of the trood Roads Boosters is of particular importance, im-portance, Inasmuch as Mr. A.
