Show FORTY DAYS FOR HORSE THIEF Eugene Bush, charged last week with the theft of a length of garden hoso and suspected of having varied his trado of tool sharpener with that of purloining lawn equipment, was Bentenced to A0 days on the rock pile In police court this morning. Bush admitted, when dIb case came to trial last weok, that he had taken the hose and stated that it was due to his having been drunk. The judge, therefore, took the matter under advisement. ad-visement. Today he bad Bush brought before him for sentence and stated that he had decided to treat the pris oner tho way that other thieves had been disposed of during tho past month, that iB, sentencing them to a stiff torm on the rook pile. "You didn't own up to this theft, Bush, until the officers proved it on you," said tho Judge, "and the fact that you were drunk or that you are sorry now, dooa not alter the matter to any oxtent whatever. If your sorrow sor-row had exhibited Itself about the time you ore accused Ii might have made some difference." 'Yer Honor, thoy wuz tryin to make me confess to everything on the calendar cal-endar that had happened for the past three years," Interposed the prisoner. "What would you have done?"
