Sept. 10.- A fonnal statement from Governor Dlx declaring declar-ing that he liaa not been asked to withdraw as a candidate for rcnomi-uation rcnomi-uation and has no such Intention, is tho latest development In the Xcw York state political situation. The governor in his statement says: "The precedent in the Democratic party has been to renomfnaio officials a6 nn endorsement of the administration administra-tion of their offices. The state administration ad-ministration for the past two years has been along lines of true democracy, democ-racy, which means government for the plain people. When democracy departs de-parts from tho established principle of the government for tho grat ma-joritv ma-joritv b granting franchise ot privilege privi-lege to tho fow, it destroys that basic principle.
