Show ABANDON TRIP TO REACH SALT LAKE. A telegram states that the party of Denverites representing the Denver Den-ver Chamber of Commerce had given up the attempt to lay out a route from Denver to Salt Lake. No details were given beyond the statement that they had found the route selected as being impractical for touring automobiles. This is the fourth time Denver interests in-terests have tried to reach Salt Lake by automobile via Grand Junction. Each attempt has proven a failure for tho. simple reason there are no roads after crossing the Utah state line. " It is absolute foolishness to try and r.each Salt Lake from Grand Junction with an automobile until roads are built. During the past summer at least a dozen cars have tried to go this route and overy one has failed. That the traveling public would like this route Is plainly evident from the number of inquiries received about it, but those interested in sending tourists tour-ists this way will never succeed until roads are built. |
