Show H AND NOW HE IS CALLING LIAR I HI A certain editor who some time ago had a daily spasm because H two presidential candidates had used the word liar, and who, in sanc- fl timonious mien, deplored the employing of such coarse language, is H now devoting much of his space to calling others liars. H The fellow has a veneering which when scratched discloses his M Hastiness. We have dubbed him a soft-soaper because he applies the H "soft-soap dope" of a lickspittle to the limit, and now we must add H to that title the descriptive "fraud," because he is not sincere in any H walk of life. He is a toady to those who have wealth, he is the tool H of others and he has not a thought in his mind that is not for sale in H the defense of the base and low who have money. H He wcmld defend a governor because the governor has the power H to feed him on perquisites. H He would deceive tho people in the matter of taxation because H the interests bck of him desire to keep the people misinformed. H He would lie in behalf of "the railroads and conceal, the truth H as to the state taxation because railroads can fee him. H He would attempt to create false issues so as to throw dust in the Hj eyes of the voters, and he would do this with the same criminal intent H of a highwayman who throws vitriol in the face of his victim. |
