Show ANOTHER BIG DEAL ON AT GOLDFIELD Tho C.'oidfield Trlbuuo says that j tentative negotiations aro now being i conducted having for their object the I consolidation under one head of several sev-eral of the leading mining proper- ' tics in the Diamondfleld part of the J Goldfield district As yet the project has not taken any concrete form, be- j yond tlie purpose of including in the j proposed merger tho Daisy, Goldfield j Belmont, Great Bond and Diamond-field Diamond-field Black Butte has been mentioned as a possibility among these properties proper-ties but thero Is little likelihood that any satisfactory basis for the absorption absorp-tion of that' company could be agreed upon Tho object of forming a merger or this character would be to provide funds, probably by a revision of the H capitalization basis or the Issuance H of additional stock, for deep mining and for sinking at least two deep H shafts at widely separate points. Lit- H tie work has been dono at any con- H sidcrablo depth in tho Diamondfleld H properties but large quantities of rich H ore havo been produced from com- H paratively shallow workings. H On the Daisy the old main companv H 6hnft, known as the Xo. 2 shaft, Is H about 530 foot deop. Tho vertica' H shaft on the Great Bend Is over 40C M feel deep and the main winze of tho H Goldfield Belmont has now reached H a depth of H00 feeL These constitute ' H the extent of deep work In this part H of the district and little dovolopmenl M work has been accomplished on the H deeper lcel3 from these shafts. H Tho large production of the Dia- ' H mondfield mines has yielded com- H paratively small net profits for the M reason that most of tho work was H conducted under costly methods ol M operation and, for the greater part, a M a tlmo when only ore of hlghgradc H could bo marketed at a profit. Al H the properties mentioned the Bel H mont. Daisy, .Grent Bend and BlacV M Butte, have produced many thousand! M of dollars worth of shipping ore and M all hac quantities of excellent mill M ing ore in sight. 'H It is believed that the plans for the M formation of the proposed merg-i M will take tangible form within tlu jB next few weeks. J. P. I.oftus who jH with his partner, .James R. Davis jH controls the Great Bend, admits tba M he has been approached regarding , M such a consolidation but has mere!; M suggested that a definite proposal be M submitted to him and promised lha M ho will not stand in the way of car- B r.vlng out the proposed plan. |
