Show HUNDREDS OF DOLLS IN OGDEN Ono of the features of the Woman's Missionary meeting of the Synod in the First Presbyterian church Thuro-day Thuro-day of this week will be a display of home drcBsed dolls, to the number of over threo hundred. The women and young people of Utah are supporting Miss Churchill, a teacher of a large girls' school conducted con-ducted by the Presbyterian church In Canton, China. There are about three hundred girls In Canton with whom Mis3 Churchill is acquainted and there Is to bo a ChriBtmas celebration given this year for tho first timo in that part of Canton, Can-ton, in tho mission building. The women wo-men of Utah who aro connected with the Presbyterian church have dressed In most beautiful manner tho three hundred dolls for this entertainment. All of theso will bo displayed upon tennis net in tho Presbyterian church, Thursday. Dolls from St George ou tho south to Smlthfiold on tho north, and from Green River on the east to Ncphl end Milford on the west. Dolls dressed in all styles of Amorlcan girl and boy dress, will make a novel and attractive disnlay At the close of Synod, the dolls will bo packed and shipped dlroct to Canton. As these dolls will havo an educative educa-tive work to do in teaching the art of American dress and needlework to the Chinese girls, cepeclal care har. been taken to have the dolls dressed complete com-plete and In good taste and skill. Some of them are drcBSod quite expensively and elaborately in accordance with the high cost of American living. The presents of this nature gfven to Chinese are kept as family troasures and these dolls will doubtless be shown to and examined by and com- mented upon by many a little and big Chinese girl |
