Show EASLEY HAS PROMISED WAY Henry P. Basley, charged with ahandonlng his wife and children and refusing to pay alimony according to the order of the district court, was brought before Judge Reeder today for a disposal of his case. Aftor the readins of a lengthy contract con-tract by which Easley should promise to pay-" his wife, through the county commissioners. $35 a month for a period of one yeai or forfeit ?300, he was asked If he would give his personal word to the court to fulfill the obligations enumerated. Easley readily agree 1 to the proposition propo-sition and signed the contract, meanwhile mean-while assuring the court that he would get to work at once and if possible pos-sible send his destitute family some money before tho last of the month Easley could have been sent to jail for having failed to comply with the ruling of the district court, but Judge Reeder stated that. If the man could be held to his promise, he would be of more use to his wife and children while at liberty and at work than in Jail and idle. 00 |
