Show oo BUTTER FAILS TO WEIGH 16 OUNCES As a result of the finding of short weight butter on the market a complaint com-plaint has been made out against the Jensen Creamery company charging it with selling butter that did not come up to the official reouiroments in the matter of weight Sanitary Inspector In-spector George Shorten Is the com-- com-- plaining witness. The complaint charges that the Jensen Jen-sen creamery sold 10 packages of butter but-ter to J. S. Carver & Sons company on December 2 and that these packages pack-ages Instead of containing 16 ounces each, contained only 15 ounces and i slight fraction. Inspector Shorten has figured out . that if this company manufactures 500 cartons of butter dally and each package pack-age is one ounce short of the pound requirement, purchasers are paylnr for 31 pounds of buttor dally that thev never receive. At the prevailing price of the commodity this would amount to an expenditure of more than $3 oon a year for butter that was never' dP Hvered. oo |
