Show J. A. JENKINS RECEIVES 45DAYS J. A. Jenkins, charged with obtaining obtain-ing money under false pretenses, was given a sentence of 15 days by Judge W. H. Reeder in police court this morning The complaint charges him with cashing a check for $10 with Mrs. Hattie Brohm when he had no funds in the bank, but he also cashed eight other checks which have been returned to the indorsers for the same reason. He repeated his story today that he had no Intentions of defrauding any one when he cashed the checks, because he believed that he had money mon-ey In the Thatcher bank of Logan. According to his story, $200, the result re-sult of a sale of property In Salt lake, of which ho and his mother were the owners, should have been sent to the bank at Logan. He stated stat-ed that he does not know why his mother, who has the money, will not help him out of his difficulties. |
