In the western part of Weber county yesterday, yester-day, the only difficulty encountered being the dry condition of the fields There has boon no rainfall for a number num-ber of months and the grqund Is parched almost to tho point of baking. Tho digging, however, was well under way boforo evening and today It was renewed will vigor. The crop Is ready for harvesting and the factory Is waiting for a supply sup-ply sufficient to Justify the starting or the machinery. The long dry spell, together with a scarcity or water for irrigation, has had a tendency to greatly reduce the saccharino quality of the beet' and nlso to diminish the tonnage, but notwithstanding thoso drawbacks, the output of sugar will exceed thai of last year because a greator acreage was planted. To harvest the crop at the least ox-ponso ox-ponso and with the- best results, it may be ncccssnry in somo localities to irrigate tho fields before the digging dig-ging of tho crop.
