Little chango .in the apparent result was shown by a revision of the'returns of the vote cast at yesterday's special I election on the question of taking prohibition out of the state constitu tion. Probably fourteen towns had not been heard from and without these towns tho vote stood: For iepeal C0.721; against repeals 59,958. This gave a majority of 7G3 for the repeal of tho prohibitory amendment to the state constitution. Formor Mayor P. Leighton of Portland, Port-land, president of tho No-Llccnse league, announced this morning that steps would be taken for a recount of the vote unles3 the official returns .should materially Increase the ma-jority ma-jority against the repeal. .Official returns had been received this morning from fifty-six cities and townB.
