Show BOYS WILL NOT HAVE TO MAKE DOILIES Chicago, Jan. 19. Boys in tho Chicago Chi-cago public schools, except In special cases, will not be required to take lessons in fancy work, sewing, darning darn-ing according to a statement last night by Dr. James B. McFatrich, president of the board of education. "I am not in favor of having boys of 12 and 14 years learning to sew and embroider dollies," he said. "There is need of manly men now, and nothing should be taught the boys to make them any the less manly." nn |
