Show BEDROCK AT .THE DAM SITE wYcJjtcrday Assistant City Engineer . R. Roche inspected tho Cobble J-reek dam slto and determined that ocdrock had boon uncovered across tho ontiro length of the proposed uam. He will moke an official report to the city board of commissioners upon his return from a trip to Logan. Lo-gan. The O'Neill Construction company had the contract for stripping the bedrock. Bedrock was found at depths varying from the surface of the ground to about thirty feet, the material ma-terial handled being common earth and loose boulders. Before tho work was completed considerable water was encountered and It required tho U8o Of Iftrco numTiq in tnlro it fmm the trench whore tho excavation was being made. Tho trench is about eighteen feet in width. The construction company todav is moving Its camp from the works,the teams and men having left the dam site this morning bringing the equipment equip-ment used In the excavation work: with them. Tho largo derricks will I be left on tho ground, however, for I tho winter and it Is possible that they will bo used in tho construction of the great dam by tho parties got-tlng got-tlng the contract for Its building. Mayor Fell stated last evening that he was gratified with tho results and hoped that It soon will be possible pos-sible to form plans for further action. Commissioners Browning and Nye also are well pleased with the outlook for tho South Fork reservoir project It Is not expected, however, that official offi-cial action, except to hear tho report of the city engineer, will be taken regarding the proparlng of plans of the dam proper at this time. Chairman M. S. Browning stated yesterday that, as soon as official notice not-ice that bedrock has been uncovered, has been made, ho will call the board of control of the reservoir project to meet and pass on some plan of action regarding the Incorporation of a company.
