The committee represents all the carmen on the Chicago, Chi-cago, Kock Island and Pacific lines. Desplto repeated reports that the carmen on the Rock Island are to join the strike now in progress on tho Harriman lines, J. K. McGuIro of Val-lev Val-lev Junction, Iowa, chairman of the committee, said the possibility of a strike would not be discussed. "Our agreement with tho Kock Island Is-land expires Feb. 1," McGuIro said, "but that adds no significance what- over to our meefing here this weok which is merelv for the dlscuason of business matters of tho Brotherhood.
