Show 00 ITALIAN BANKERS ARC UNDEIIARREST Salt Lake, Fob 7. V. J Bomblno and William MUauo, senior partner and manager respectively of the firm of Bomblno Bros.' Bankers, merchants and transportation agents at 147 West Third South street, were arrested arrest-ed shortly before 7 o'clock last night by Deputy Sheriffs Axel II Steele and John Corleas, on charges ot wholesale whole-sale embezzlement from their Italian countrymen in Utah and surrounding states. Gabriolle Bomblno, junior membe-of membe-of tho firm, Is being sought on similar charges. Vigorous efforts were made to find him last night, but at a late house the sheriff's forces concluded that he had left the city. It Is alleged that In representing themselves as bankers and financial ngents tho Bomblno brothers and MI-iano MI-iano hao duped their countrymeut Into In-to entrusting with thorn largo sums to send to relatives In Italy It Is charged that In many Instances tho Bomblno brothers and Mllano never have forwarded this money. It was explained that the assignment had resulted Irom financial straits Busco declares that ho had worked ardently in the west to earn enough money to send to his aged parents in Rome. Busco camo to Salt Lako and showod Mllano and tho Bomblno brothers the letter which ho had received re-ceived from his parents. Tho bankers Insisted that tho money had boon sent. However, they were unable to show receipts from tho Italian exchange ex-change at Rome. |
