After some discussion the diamond was purchased by 'McCreary for $150. At the time of "the transaction McCreary was wearing a diamond scarf pin valued val-ued at several hundred dollars which the thief could have easily taken had he been so disposed, for there was no , one in sight on the streets at the ! time.
