Allen was held yesterday yes-terday afternoon with services at tho Third Ward chapel, Bishop W D VanDyke conducting. The members of three organizations, Dix-Logan Post No. 3, G. A R.. Dix-Logan Post No. 2, W. R C, and Lincoln Circle No. 2. Ladies pf the G A. R., attended tho services in a body. At the public services in the ward chapel the speakers Avere Apostle David Da-vid O McKay, District Attorney E. T. Hulaniski, President James Wothorspoon, Gilbert Torgeon, Bishop C. E. Peterson, Co'onol Tat-lock, Tat-lock, of Salt Lake, and Bishop Van Dyke. A male quartette composed of Messrs- Jed Ballaatyne, George Douglas, Doug-las, Carl Allison and Leo Madsen. rendered the -i elections, ""O, My Path- ' er" and "The Vacant Chair" There was also a duet, "O, My Father," by Miss Mary Farley and G-eortre- Doug- I las and "ji?s Fr'ov sang "The Half I Has Never Been Told." The ritual service' of tho orgahiza-I orgahiza-I tlons whose members attonded' in a body was given at the conclusion of the chapel service. The pallbearers were slv members of the Dix-Logan' Post President C. F. Mlddleton closed clos-ed the services with a prayer and the remains of the well known veteran were laid to rest in the Ogden City cemotory. FRANK PAINE Attended by a very large number of relatives and friends and by the employes of the Shupe-Williams Shupe-Williams Candy company, with which concern he had been connected for the past several years, the funeral of Frank Paine -was held yesterday afternoon with services at the Second Wnrfl rinnol nf 9. rvVlnp.tr R1t vnnner men, companions of the deceased, acted act-ed as pall bearers. The floral tributes trib-utes were beautiful. Tbe music was furnished by the ward 'choir and there were also 8olos by Walter Stephens, lone Wilcox and Josephino Shorten The speakers were A. P Balllncer. John G. Ellis, Bishop Robert McQuarrie and President Presi-dent James WthorsDoon Tnterment was jil the Ogden JSIty cemetery. MRS. JANE BAIRD Bishop Oscar Turnquist conducted tho funeral services ser-vices over the remains of Mrs. Jane Baird, a pioneer resident of this county, coun-ty, at the Lvnn Ward meeting "house yesterday afternoon The services were held at 1 o'clock. In addition to Bishop Turnquist, the other speakers speak-ers were President C. F. Mlddleton, President L W. Shurtllff, Bishop Levi Le-vi Taylor, Paul Chrlstensen and W W Crane. The ward choir rendered several selections, in addition to which there were selections by a quartette and a solo by Miss Myrtle LeavltL Mrs. Baird had resided in this locality for the past f 55 years. Interment was mado at tho City cemetery. |
