Show SS CHANGING CHEYENNE BULLPEN A dispatch from Cheyenne, Wyo., says: 'The Union Pacific Railroad company com-pany Is quietly remodeling what Is known locally as its "Bullpen' here, apparently in anticipation of a strike Seven years ago the company built a stockade in which strikebreakers were cared for during the strike, which lasted eleven months. The company has refused to grant the demandB of its local union employes',' em-ployes',' and seven hundred men are expected to walk out soon Local leaders of tho federated unions un-ions of the Harrlman system. Including Includ-ing boiler makers and machinists and their helpers and car men state there is no Immediate danger of a strike on tho western roads and that no decision will bo reached as to futuro action of the men until after a conference con-ference has been held by their representatives rep-resentatives and the heads of tho Harrlman roads, and then not until after a referendum voto of the employes em-ployes has been taken on tho results of that conference. On the surface there Is no strike sentiment in the Ogden shops and neither the employes nor the Harrlman Har-rlman roads centering hero arc making mak-ing preparations for a strike. 00 |
