Show INVESTIGATE $16 A DAY CHARGES At the meeting of tho county commissioners com-missioners Monday the claim of Miss Eva C. Erb, official stenographer of the second district court, as approved ap-proved by the couit, was referred to Commissioner Skcen for investigation, investiga-tion, the question arising whether per diem should be allowed for two sessions ses-sions of court held in one day. Miss Erb is paid S a day for her sorvices, or $S for each session of court upon which she attends. On February 28, it appears tho court held two half-day sessions, one at-Ogden, at-Ogden, tho other at Farmlngton. Davis Dav-is county. Miss Erb attouded tho Og-don Og-don session and Harold Packer, at tended tho Farmlngton session, each presenting a 1)111 for the services. The Packard claim was filed with the Davis county commissioners and the Erb claim was filed with tho Webor county commissioners. If tho law contemplates that tho salary shall be paid for each session of tho court then tho stenographer will recoivo $16 a day it two sessions of the court are held. Morally, County Coun-ty Commissioner Skeou says the day's services should call for only $8, ovon though court should be hold for half a day in both Weber and Davis counties. Tho mattor has been referred to the county attorney. |
