Show INCREASE IN THE IMPORTATIONS Washington, March 10. Some re-inarkablo re-inarkablo increases in the importation of agricultural products into the United Unit-ed States during tho decade 1900-1910, are shown in a bulletin Issued by the buieau of statistics Notable among theso Is the increase In the Imports of frujfs and .nuts for the last ten yoars. In 1906 this class was valued at $19,000,000. while for the year 1910. thoy aro given as $39,500,000. The Imports of fruits alone have increased on an average of $1,000,000 a year since 1900. For the year 1910 they were valued at $2C,000,000, an Increase of $10,000,000 since 1900. Bananas showed show-ed the principal Increase in this class, having grown from $0,000,000 in 1900 to $12,000,000 in 1910. Hides and skins show Increases, as do practically all commodities in tho agricultural products. Shipments of hides and skins inci eased from 307,-000,000 307,-000,000 in 1900 to 573.000.000 in 1910. For the year 1910, however, there was a decrease when they wero Imported to the extent or 401,000,000 pounds. Live animals, broadstuffs. sugar and tobacco wero also Imported in greater quantities in ,1910 than In 1900. |
