Feb. 11 Without debate de-bate or amendment, the joint resolution, resolu-tion, locating tho Panama Canal exposition expo-sition in San Francisco, passed tho senate today. Tho bill was called up by Senator Perkins. Senator Swanson explained that he intended to offer an amendment pro-lding pro-lding for a naval demonstration at " ashington and Norfolk in connec-wlth connec-wlth the opening of the Pannma canal, but that, owing to the fact that the incorporation of the provision would have the effect of sending the hill back to the house, thereby causing caus-ing delay, ho would refrain.
